Get Summer Body Ready with Our Best Home Workout

First off, we would like to clarify that every bod is a summer bod. But if you’ve been feeling a little blah lately, a simple home workout is a great way to boost your mood and confidence this summer. Because we all know that feeling – the dread of the bikini season upon us when we’ve spent the last few months binging oreos on the couch watching Friends reruns.

Here’s a quick workout to bust a move to from the comfort of your own home. Don’t have workout equipment? We’ve got you.

Warm Up Your Summer Bod with Stretches

First things first, your workout needs some serious motivation and what better excuse then to splurge on some new activewear? We are vibing our Active Heathered Leggings worn with our white Caged Seamless Sports Bra for ultimate comfort and confidence. Throw on a slamming playlist or just keep the Friends reruns on, we won’t judge.

Before we start, a little disclaimer: hold each stretch for 15 seconds and only stretch to the point of discomfort, not pain!

Begin by getting into the lunge position and holding your arms off your knees for a deeper, more challenging stretch. Hold for 15 seconds and then switch into the pigeon position by tucking your front leg horizontal to your body. For a deeper stretch, gently push the thigh of your straight leg to touch the ground.

Stretch your pigeoned leg straight in front of you to warm up your slide split. Depending on your flexibility, try to take your hands off the ground to get a deeper stretch and improve your balance. If you have your split, consider adding a cushion under your ankle to work on an overspilt. If you are struggling, prop your back leg up so you are resting on your knee and extend your front leg. Do these stretches on both sides.

Lying flat on your belly, place your hands just shy of your shoulders, keeping your elbows tucked in. Gently lift up into cobra for a spinal warm up. You can also warm up your back by kneeling on all fours and curling your back into cat/cow poses.

Don’t forget your arms! Lie flat on your belly and bring your arm underneath you across your chest. Gently rest on top of your arm to feel the stretch in your shoulder. Do the same on the other side.

Then, stand up with your legs hip width apart and your arms by your sides. Bring one arm up straight and extend it in a circle as far as you can before flipping the grip somewhere by your ear. Do this 5 times on either side.

Conditioning Your Summer Bod

Now that your body is warmed up, it’s time to condition. Get into the routine of building your strength and toning your body with the following conditioning exercises. Start with a realistic goal for you that will stretch your comfort zone but not harm your bod and incrementally increase the workout by 5 for every set each time you do the workout.

  • 25 sit ups
  • 10 push ups
  • 25 leg lifts per side
  • 25 squats
