In the great words of the most famous mime the world has ever known (irony in the morning, oh yes)…”It’s good to shut up sometimes.” The late Marcel Marceau crafted his pantomime profession after these words, some face paint and a shirt of stripes. We don’t know much of modern day mimes, but stripes are something we simply can’t shut up about. Spring 2011 looks by Giorgio Armani, Bensoni and Ralph Lauren mirror the likes of Parisian street artists and silent film savants Charlie Chaplin and Mabel Normand. Ah, the classics reimagined…Fashion leaves us speechless sometimes.
