Fashion / GUEST EDITOR: JENNI FROM I SPY DIY FINDS THE SILVER LINING
Growing up in Wisconsin, Jenni Radosevich was always creating her own style. If she saw something in a magazine that she couldn’t find in her local department store, she would make it herself. Now living in New York, her affinity to “find fashion you love, and do-it-yourself” has manifested itself into a monthly DIY column for InStyle magazine and a blog: www.ispydiy.com. Out this April, her first book, I Spy DIY Style, will include 30 new projects inspired by celebrities, runway and vintage looks, with tips and ideas from designers, DIY bloggers, and fashion insiders.
The trouser is officially on trend, and after spotting this metallic striped pair on the runway, I grabbed a bright blue pair and some silver fabric paint to recreate the look while adding some color to my wardrobe for spring!
Supplies: Wide leg Trousers, masking tape, fabric paint, paint brush, iron
Step 1: Place tape down the side of your trousers from top to bottom, the first piece on the seam, and the second 1-2 inches from the first.
Step 2: Paint in between the lines to create the stripe down the side.
Step 3: Let dry for 2 hours then peel off the tape. Repeat on the opposite side.
Step 4: After the second stripe dries, turn your pants inside out and iron the stripes to set the paint.

I’m so happy to her on this blog. She is one of my favorites, and makes such awesome DIY pieces!

Let’s use proper grammar here… ***dries. And c’mon, so you painted your own sweatpants to look like every other pair of sweats out there. Whoop-di-do. Let’s see something creative, folks.
So simple and so cool! Very nice DIY, must try it!

I wouldn’t call this a diy. All she did was paint a stripe down the leg. Not very original.
sorry, i don’t really like this. looks like track pants.
