Fashion / F21 Queen B: 10 Questions with Girl in the Lens

GirlInTheLens Interview-1

Next stop on the worldwide F21 Queen B tour…we’re hopping across the pond to the UK!  (Peep the US, Canada, Japan, and French blogger babes if you haven’t yet!) Natasha Footman of Girl in the Lens is seriously one of the sweetest gals we’ve ever chatted with and we even got a little sneak peek to her soon-to-be-published novel that you can check out in bookstores in September! Keep scrolling to find out more about her style stories and don’t forget to vote for her in our F21 Global Queen B Style-Off coming to Facebook on August 1st!!!

What’s your blogger back-story?

I set up the blog with my boyfriend Callum (who does all the photography and design for Girl in the Lens) about a year and a half ago. Having a blog is a great way to learn about social marketing, and Callum and I thought it’d also be a creative outlet for us outside our jobs too. We had no idea how big a part of our lives it would become!

Describe your style in 5 words.

Easy, casual, preppy with polish.

If you could trade closets with anyone, who would it be?

Alexa Chung. I love her quirky take on preppy British style.

Any blogs that you’re currently obsessed with?

Tuula Vintage, Sincerely Jules, Shiny Thoughts, Neon Blush, Park & Cube, Song of Style and WishWishWish are some of my favorites.

Give us a rundown of a typical day.

I check my emails and social media on my phone in bed, make a big breakfast, write up a blog post, do some writing (my debut novel comes out in September!), have lunch, check emails and social media again, go for a run, do some yoga, do some more writing, yet more checking of emails and social media, dinner with friends, perhaps see Callum or go to a blog event, then to bed with a book and some TV.

Any tips for new bloggers?

Don’t lose sight of yourself. It’s so easy to say yes to every single PR inquiry and to try and dress in a particular way that you think will get you noticed. But that’s the best thing about blogging – it’s all about your own style and personality, so just be yourself.

Finish this sentence! In high school I was most likely to…

… get a good grade!

What was your most embarrassing style moment in high school?

White socks with black flats!

Pick your favorite high school movie: The Heathers, Clueless or Mean Girls? Clueless.

How did you declare your style in high school?

Since [I] had to wear [a] uniform, it was all about accessories, hairstyles and makeup.
