Fashion / Emmy Awards Red Carpet: A Recap of Our 3 Fav Trends
If there’s one thing we love about awards shows (other than seeing a slew of our dream men all dolled up in tuxes and suits), it’s the enchanting gowns that grace the Red Carpet that captivate our attention so. And while this year’s Emmy’s were a bit anti-climactic (i.e. no drama occurred), our fav belles of the small screen still managed to dazzle us enough to satisfy our perpetually hungry appetite. Check out our picks from the 2012 Emmy Awards Show below and tell us what you think about our fav looks:
Girls, girls girls. This year’s Emmy Awards was all about Girls (well at least on the Red Carpet, as far as we’re concerned). The cast of our erase-it-from-our-DVR-and-suffer-the-consequences latest TV addiction Girls brought their A-game to the Red Carpet last night, and although they were robbed of awards, we can’t help but be incredibly proud of how glam their looks were. From Lena Dunham’s lace Prada number to Zosia Mamet’s black-and-white Bibhu Mohapatra gown, the girls of Girls proved that age is nothing but a number when it comes to having sophisticated style.
Although we’ve had a bit of an Indian summer in the City of Angels, the harvest-worthy colors of autumn came to the Red Carpet via pixie-haired muse Ginnifer Goodwin, who wore an orange textured Monique Lhuillier dress, and the stunning Jena Malone adorned in a wine-colored J. Mendel.
And for those who take cue from the ceaseless summer heat, vibrant splashes of citron blinded eyes on the Red Carpet as stars showed off their curves in the neon hues of sunshine yellow and lime green. Julianne Moore’s Dior Couture gown dropped jaws in classic Hollywood fashion while the idol of our tween years, Claire Danes covered her baby bump in an elegant Lanvin canary yellow strapless.
