Fashion / Electric Guest Interview: Asa Taccone
We’ve been jamming to the funky-electro-pop sounds of L.A.-duo Electric Guest for quite some time (we mean…our Creative Director has been playing “This Head I Hold” on repeat for months now – seriously, he has!) and we have to say, their sound is infectious. Produced by the one-and-only Danger Mouse, the talented duo (made up of Asa Taccone and Matthew “Cornbread” Compton) meld dance party-worthy tracks with old-school funk vibes – it’s like a breath of fresh air, and we love it. We sat down with lead-singer Asa who gabbed with us about the most embarrassing trend he’s ever rocked, the super power he wishes he had and the one thing he could not live without – we’re not gonna lie, we’re kind of in love…#justsayin
Q & A:
F21: Describe your sound:
AT: Circuitous, verve, wistful, pulchritudinous & reflective.
F21: Fav song on the album:
F21: Album you have on repeat:
AT: Lonerism by Tame Impala
F21: Most-Loved movie quote:
AT: “We think too much and feel too little:
More than machinery we need humanity;
More than cleverness we need kindness and gentleness.”
-The Great Dictator
F21: Song that makes you want to dance party:
AT: Chris Brown’s “Beautiful People”
F21: Most embarrassing trend you rocked when you were younger:
AT: I had a taper fade and I wore massive clothing. I used to be really into hip hop and you could tell.
F21: If you were an animal…
AT: I’d be a fox but not in an attractive way, just in the way that animal conducts itself and because they consistently under live their 10 year average life span by like 7 to 8 years which is like me because I think I’m going to die young.
F21: If you had any power…
AT: That’s crazy you ask because I’ve been thinking about this non-stop. I’d have that power that the girl from the 90′s show “Out Of This World” had. She could stop time by putting her palms together. Just think what you could do? Literally 95% of your problems would be made easier.
