Contests & Giveaways / CLOSET INVASION AND GIVEAWAY!
If you remember our tour of Antwerp from a few weeks ago, we left no stone or blogger unturned, but what we kept top secret was that we were invited into the glamorous abode of one of Belgian’s top fashion bloggers – Emma Gelaude. So with her best foot forward (it’s in the vid), the lovely Emma handed us the key to what once was her bedroom, but now is a closet filled with ultra-covetable pieces, mountains of vintage furniture and very impressive shelving.
And did we mention the giveaway? Emma is a published author! A signed copy of her style tome Impact is up for grabs. It’s entirely in Dutch – if you’re into that sort of thing (we most certainly are!) All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on this blog post by noon PST Monday, October 17, 2011 answering the following question:
Emma moved her bed into the living room for more closet space. What’s the craziest thing you’ve done in the name of your wardrobe?
UPDATE: Thanks for playing, we’ve picked our winner! Scroll down to see if you’re the lucky one!

Congratulations, Rox! You’ve won a copy of Impact by Emma Gelaude! We have your email address on hand, and we’ll be contacting you regarding your prize shortly.

I cut, dye, and reshape clothes so that they fit me better, because I am so tall!
Craziest thing I have ever done in the name of fashion was take up half of my son’s closet to fit all my clothes!!
I took over 2,000 photos (and counting!) of every piece in my wardrobe including jewelry, hosiery, accessories to create a custom “Online Closet!” I can plan outfits, make moodboards, create collages and most importantly – make informed SHOPPING decisions ; ) – all from the comfort of my laptop. Soooo much time invested but also SO totally worth it!
La verdad creo que nunca hice algo realmente loco…
Pero para ganar mas espacio uso las spacebags!
Gracias!
I actually have my clothes all over my house! My sister keeps some of them in her room -I have to treat her good, otherwise this avalanche of clothes would come right through my door! And, my parents’ living room made some space for me too!
I cut shirts && pants, splatter paint over V-necks, draw with sharpies on V-necks….
If I get T-shirts, I ALWAYS cut them into tank tops!
The craziest thing I’ve ever done in the name of my beloved wardrobe is take a picture of every item I own and make a photo album with possible local of item (in drawer, closet, Karen’s bed..etc) Then I look for an outfit there first instead of scavenging everywhere desperately in the morning.
the craziest thing I’ve done in my wordrobe is pretend that I’m a fashion designer….yeah that didn’t work out quite well. I think I’ll still to shopping at the stores
I spent a week on and off buses for a trip that spanned 1,300 miles with my wardrobe. My mom got a job that required a move from Fort Worth, TX to Baltimore, MD. All I could bring had to fit in two large suitcases. This was the tail end of January when a lot of the cities we were going to be passing through were strangely experiencing significant snow, even DFW itself, which was cause for many delays.Turns out my prize possessions were the clothes I’d found thrifting and brand new items that I could not bare the thought of storage rats encountering. We made countless transfers through 5 or 6 states, but everything survived in tact, my mom and me included.
the craziest thing I’ve ever done is to invade the bonus room in the house and used that as an extension of my tiny closet.
i had $50 dollars for groceries until I got paid again but I went crazy at forever21 and endedup spending $2 on ramen soups to get some new tops.
this is so horrible, but after i got married this summer and moved into a larger apartment, i asked my husband to take the closet in the spare bedroom. i wanted to be sure that i had room for all of my lovelies and fortunately, he was so understanding:) so now, i have a lovely and large closet to store all of my fabulous shoes and clothes:)
cheers!
When I lived in the dorms I had NO closet space… so I raised my bed and started hanging my clothes from the bars on the bottom of the bed frame!
The craziest thing I’ve done is take over my family’s food hamper /food closet (where pasta’s..dry foods…can items…rice…things of that sort) and turned it into my shoe closet (majority) and my pajamas/sleep tee shirts closet. I drilled all the shelves to the wall myself with materials from menards. took 2 days to finish. heres pictures: http://twitpic.com/cu57w & http://twitpic.com/cu47i
I use my closet, my mothers closet, my brothers closet, and storage space in a friends home. I’ve got fashion fever.
The craziest thing I’ve done for fashion is change my major to apparel merchandising and product development after 2 and a half years of being a health science major because I realized there would be zero happiness in my life if it didn’t constantly revolve around fashion!!
In the past I have taken the walk-in closet and let my spouse have the tiny closet for his clothes.
When my older sister moved out for the summer I begged my parents to let me have her room. It took me all summer to make the switch but in the end, I have a bigger closet and more room to hang up my millions of hand bags!!!

The most insane thing i ever done in the name of fashion was have a contest with my sister on who can put on the most chunky sweaters. It was really crazy and fun but it was summer time ! Haha.
good times!
I rearranged my whole room once so that I could fit everything in. I was out of closet and dresser space, so I resorted to using a couple of laundry buckets for everything that wouldn’t fit. I even tried folding my clothes about ten trillion different ways
I didn’t have anymore drawers or closet space left so i resorted to using my brother and two sisters closets. I tryed using my moms but you can understand how that didn’t work out. Needless to say my siblings are out of closet space.
The craziest thing I’ve done in the name of my wardrobe is splatter bleach and glitter on my jeans to look like the famous designer jean jackets
The 2 craziest things I have done for my wodrobe was spend $300 dollars for a leather jacket, I made my little brothers play room into a closet(he is only 4,and the room was 25 by 25 feet)!!!!!!
The craziest thing Ive done is get another whole dresser and put my other one in my closet under my clothes!
