Fashion / City Guide: Our West LA Itinerary
Since you’ve already explored a slice of East LA with our previous city guide (see it here if you haven’t already!), we’re shifting our focus to the Westside. Check out our fave locales below that will leave you humming Hotel California…
Start your morning off with artisanal doughnuts made right before your eyes at Zelda’s Corner in Venice. The ultimate Venice brunch spot, Sunny Spot has one of the most delicious (and biggest bang-for-your-buck) meals on the Westside. If you’re looking for a lunch stop that can’t be beat, carnivores should head to Wurstküche (also in Venice) for exotic sausages you’ve never heard of before and Father’s Office (in Santa Monica) for some of the tastiest burgers in LA. For dinner, chow down with your toes in the sand at Malibu hideaway Paradise Cove.
There are plenty of beaches to keep you busy on the Westside (no joke) from Escondido Falls (what’s more magical than a waterfall?!) in Malibu and Point Dume State Beach (hike the bluffs above rocky coves) to the classic Santa Monica Pier, El Matador State Beach (ogle the cute surfers) and the infamous Venice Boardwalk. Insider Tip: make like an ancient Roman and explore The Getty Villa at Malibu when you need a break from the sun. Art lovers have to peep Bergamot Station Arts Center – a former trolley stop turned art and culture playground spread across 8 acres – and the multiple galleries on the grounds. Shop ’til you drop at Forever 21 on 3rd Street Promenade while spotting celebs in the shopping crowds.
After you’ve gotten your fill of fresh squeezed juice at Moon Juice in Venice, try Santa Monica’s Willow Spa for treatments you won’t ever want to end. Recharge at Intelligentsia Venice (you can spot us here on the reg) before heading to the Diesel Bookstore in Malibu Country Mart to pick up a unique summer read. End the day strolling the Venice Canals with your bestie.
